This year was great for porn awards ceremonies. After two years in which their popularity plummeted because the pandemic forced us to watch them online, it was an on-location event for everyone. The last major ceremony of the year was the 2022 XRCO Awards, held at Boardner’s by La Belle, Los Angeles. It was a splendid event in its 38th edition. Although considered by the fans to be not as glamorous as the other two big events, AVN and XBIZ, the true fans of porn appreciate it for its impartiality and the quality of the judging delivered by the X-Rated Critics Organization. The Popularity Of Erotic Hardcore Has Been Reconfirmed
After Deeper 2 featuring Martiland Ward snatched awards left and right this year, it was time for Psychosexual to step into the spotlight. This movie featuring Gianna Dior in the main role has been in the shadow of Deeper 2 all throughout the year. But at the 2022 XRCO, the big award went to Psychosexual. Not only that, but it also granted a Female Performer of the Year award for Gianna Dior. However, she had to split it with Emily Willis, because they tied on the first place in the eyes of the critics. Another extra hardcore erotic story appraised this year is Influence. This film is the reason why Emily Willis is sharing the spotlight with Gianna. And if you thought Deeper 2 has sunk after the perfect run it had, you’re wrong. Martiland Ward won the Best Actress Award for her perfect performance in the film.
Trans Porn Is Finally Normalized
If you’ve kept an eye on the industry this year, you know that the big surprise came from Joanna Angel’s best directorial work so far “Casey: A True Story”. This is the first trans porn movie to even with a big award (The AVN Best Movie Award). And it also claimed some awards from XRCO as well. We have another tie between two porn performers. But this time they are men and they performed in the same movie. The Best Actor Award was shared this year by Dante Colle and Tommy Pistol. And, as you might expect, Casey Kisses, whose true story was put on film by Joanna Angel was awarded the title of Best Trans Performer of 2022.
Busty Porn Stars Are Making A Comeback
Keeping an eye on award ceremonies like this will give you a clue of what we’re about to see in the following years. The previous awards for best new starlets went mainly to skinny chicks like Elsa Jean, Avery Cristy and Gia Dersa, and Gianna Dior. The XRCO Hall Of Fame Got Three New Starlets
Because XRCO is an award ceremony series that’s mostly based on performance. The hall of fame hosted by this organization is quite a big deal. And this year we’ve seen recognition for three new hotties. It surprised me to find out that Dana DeArmond wasn’t a member of this hall of fame yet. But she hot in this year, along with Heather Hunter and Kayden Kross.
