The campaign against the porn industry has been steeming in France, and it seems like it has started boiling. A committee was formed to analyze the adult industry; their report is virulently anti-adult. Their recommendation is for the government to intervene and censor the entire practice. Such a decision will hit a massive blow on the industry and will have a powerful impact on sex workers and creative directors. It comes against everything France liberty stands for.
The report was heavily flawed because it was carried out by a team of three known anti-porn activits. The main cause of the report was a scene from the well-known french producer Jacquie et Michel. However, the case is based on an investigation three years ago, before the new regulations into consent policies and ethical standards were imposed.
Conservative Anti-Porn Activists In USA Joined By Ben Shapiro
Well-known anti-porn activist Candance Owens was supported by conservative influencer Ben Shapiro into a right-wing rant against the porn industry. It happened on an episode of “The Ben Shapiro Show” in which Shapiro cited a hot take on the adult industry from Candace called “How Porn Is Destroying Society.”
But their definition of porn is absurd. Candance Owens stated that her husband avoids social media on the account and that it’s all pornographic. Not only do these conservative influencers want to heavily regulate porn, but they also want to control what consenting adults post on Instagram and TikTok. That means they want censorship on bikini pics and threats trap posting. Owens went as far as saying that the porn industry is a government conspiracy. Their theory is that government allows and encourages porn in many ways to destroy the nuclear family. But that’s what conservatives also say about divorce, abortion, and even feminism.
Religious Apps Against Porn Exposed To Be Surveillance Software
The so-called “Porn Filters” for which churches in Michigan and other religious states pushed on church-goers. But the apps came with backdoors that allowed police to spy on the community members. These apps are marketed as “accountability tools” to help parents and spouses keep an eye on what their loved ones browse on the internet. Some of these apps even took screenshots every 30 seconds. The pretext is that in this way, they would work as insensitive for people to not fall for the sin of masturbation. But as journalists in Michigan have uncovered, those screenshots and all the traffic was going straight to police forces in the regions. The most problematic app seems to come from a company called Covenant Eyes. That’s pretty Orwellian, don’t you think?
