In our honest opinion, Video games are perhaps the most prominent and well-loved of entertainment genres in the world.
They are fantastic, engrossing and profoundly effective at relieving stress.
As is with everything popular, video games on consoles or PC too possess their fair share of genres.
These genres contain numerous ones like Action-adventure, survival horror, first-person shooters, third-person shooters, fantasy, role-playing, etc.
the number of fans and proponents associated with each genre of video games is immensely large and difficult to gauge.
It is also possible for a gamer to be a fan of more than one genre as well which itself is a most common occurrence.
The Genres of Most Played Games
As we said before there are numerous genres of video games.
Each of them possesses its own fair share of fans and supporters.
Still, there are some genres that tend to stand out with prominence.
That is because they have got a tremendously large number of people associated with them.

Action games are perhaps the most prominent and loved game genres present nowadays.
It has been a fan favorite since the conception of video games and most gamers are produced under this genre.
These games are excellent as they afford the player a chance to escape into a wondrous world.

There are also many sub-genres of this category as well such as beat em’ up titles like Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, Cadillacs, and Dinosaurs, etc.

Action games have been around for quite a while now and they have in turn influenced many other sub-genres of games.
There are platformers, beat em’ ups and many others as well.
You can’t claim to be a video gaming fan if you haven’t ever tried one of these titles at least one.
For most of us, the journey of video games starts with an action game.
For many it was Super Mari, for some it was Battletoads, for some it was Double Dragon and so on.
The age of Action games began a long time ago but there doesn’t seem to be any curtailing date which is great indeed.

Hey Believe it or not, but there are more fans of Soccer in video games than there are in the real world.
Almost everyone enjoys FIFA and its yearly releases and Madden too has got its humongous share of fans as well.
Sports games are indeed a thing and they allow players to compete in the virtual world.

There is also nothing quite like the satisfaction that you get from executing a perfect combo in Tekken and Street Fighter.
Fighting games have been around since the arcade days and the factor of competition is brutal here.
These games require finesse and skill to excel.
There is nothing quite like beating an opponent soundly through sheer talent and skill.
Role-Playing Games
Role-Playing Games are fantastic.
This genre has its own sub-categories that are equally fun to play.
There are pure role-playing games, adventure-based role-playing games, puzzle-based ones and many more.
Personally, I am a fan of the Witcher, Fallout, and Skyrim series of Role-playing games.
Also, nothing beats Final Fantasy in this particular genre as it is the defining title from this category.
Strategy Games
These games are the ones to play if you want to challenge yourself and develop your mental acumen at the same time.
You might consider these games to be boring somewhat but trust us when we say, they aren’t.
Strategy games require perfect strategizing and effective planning.
They require you to possess the requisite foresight for beating your opponent.
Plus, you feel simply awesome when you beat the CPU or a worthy adversary through your wits and mental ability.
Fan-favorite titles from this category include Command and Conquer, Age of Empires, Warcraft, Civilization, etc.

The sex games are amongst the most played browser games in the world.
