Final Fantasy
If you are a layman to all this stuff, a brief introduction can do well to us both, let’s see what we got for you.
As we mentioned above, Final Fantasy is a media franchise, and to put it in simple words, let’s say that they introduce new video games every year in the form of installments.
These installments are known as Final Fantasy Series and up to 14 series have made their way to all the gamers across the globe.
The reason a true gamer loves this science fantasy is that with each series, they come up with innovations.
They may change the character, the storyline or even the outside force.
But let us tell you, once you grab your hands on Final Fantasy, you are so going to fall for the recurring elements.
This may include the fight of the protagonist against the evil forces, how he struggles for the good inside him and the ultimate world vs.
me scenario.
These are some of the conventional key elements of Japanese folklores and they have made sure to add a tinge in every game series.
We know how important the release of Final Fantasy Five was for all the gaming hearts because they first confirmed it and then canceled it three times continuously, so finally, when we get our hands on the much-awaited Anthology, we decided to give it a review.
The first thing that was the basic reason behind all this hype of Final Fantasy Anthology was the storyline of this part.
We all had our hopes high that this may break the stereotypes with its distinctive plot, but alas!
We were disappointed as there wasn’t a single major change from the previous ones.
We found the story to be average as it revolved around four characters only, which were Faris the pirate, Reina the princess, Galuf the amnesiac and Bartz the traveler.
In the subsequent series, Final Fantasy had introduced the interaction of their major characters, which, to be honest, we all adored.
This had nothing like that.
It depicts that a meteor has just crashed into the universe and this had endangered the safety of the crystals.
So all these four people are out in the town, to save the four crystals.
Eventually, this becomes more of their adventures regarding their trip to different places.
Now we thought this might interest us, but when we compare it with the games we play today, it becomes pretty expectable, as you have to fight all the ups and downs that they face during their journey, which feels more like an Odyssey.
We don’t want to sound pessimist, so let us tell you the not-so-bad side of this series.
Yes, if you belong to that category of the gamers that spend days and nights building a character, collecting all the superpowers and skills, then you are surely going to find it interesting.
Moreover, the battle engine is in 2D, just like the previous ones.
Hence, you need not struggle to adjust your eyes to the new stuff.
The characters it has, show their unique powers, spells and fighting style.
This sums up the first half, 36-40 hours of this Anthology pack.
Continuing to the second half of the Anthology, which comprises the Final Fantasy six series.
It is the masterpiece of all the video game series.
This, in a true sense, fulfilled all the expectations that we had about the Anthology.
The long list of characters, strong storyline and exquisite effects take it a step ahead as compared to the first one.
The surprising element is the breaking of the stereotypes rather than following the already set norms.
This is the first time someone has come with such a broadminded game theme.
It shows a fight of an empire to dominate the world.
This time, this fight doesn’t include physical prowess or beating their enemies, but magic.
You read it right, the empire wants to rule the world through the power of magic.
The rising action begins when Terra the protagonist, solely owns all the magic.
To rule the world, everyone is fighting for her.
She has to decide either to support the empire which once treated her as a slave.
Or to favor those which are against the empire, aka the rebellion group.
There is darkness everywhere, no light of any optimism, but things change because of two elements, the friendship, and hope.
The characters fight for their cause, they come across various opposition forces.
Irrespective of all that, this story is truly a focal point of all the Final Fantasy hype.
It has all the gaming aspects like the fighting, battles, weapon changing, skills and latest innovations.
They also included many new ideas.
Like one character has mastered the sword techniques while the other one is the best at dancing.
And the list of unique character traits goes on.
As a final verdict, we will emphasize its purchase if you haven’t played especially the sixth series.
We all do realize, it is not very common that you come across such a series.
This guarantees you 96-100 hours of uninterrupted gaming experience.
